This is a weekend retreat for senior participants that provides a working-level update on the current “Tools of the Trade” in development and on the management problems that are increasingly likely to be encountered. Extensive use is made of the case method of the Harvard and Ivey Business Schools
What you will learn:
The emerging vocabulary, concepts and techniques applicable to development and an enhanced understanding of the issues and obstacles that development organizations will have to face; improved awareness of the governance issues involving boards and senior managers; Carver models.
Who should attend:
Members of boards of directors and advisory boards of NGOs – both newly appointed members and members wishing to receive updates – as well as the senior managers that boards regularly interact with. This retreat is especially timely immediately after the Annual General Meeting of the organization, at which the new board is approved.
